Okay I either plan on applying for a Public Relations major or Sports Management major, so obviously Newhouse is mharder to get into. So can I have my Newhouse chances? And my general admission chances?

thanks

Your chances at Newhouse are very low. Your general admission chances are slightly better, although still a reach because of your SAT scores.
Bring up your SAT scores or take the ACT and do well in it and your chances will significantly improve.

Good Luck!

Avg. GPA was 3.9 and avg. SAT was 1300 for Newhouse Admissions this year. Looks like a good workload and good set of EC's. More involvement in the school paper would probably help. It shouldn't be too hard to get that SAT up, so I'd say you have a decent chance. Plan on writing an amazing essay and get some good rec's.

Also, there's a thread for the Newhouse Acceptees; look in there to get a clearer idea of what you're going up against.

Good luck! Maybe I'll see you in a couple of years.

Thanks. I'm going to study a lot for the SAT and ACT over the summer so I'm hoping to end up with something around 1300.

And I will have amazing recs and essays.

Not too bad. Your basic stats are a little low. Work really hard for straight As first semester senior year, that'll help.

I dont think you have a chance in hell with those stats. Syracuse might be a bit above your academic potential. Did you consider any Community Colleges in your neighborhood- I've heard they have some really good programs that would more than fit your "needs".
