<p>Didn't have any luck in the NEU forum so I thought I'd try my luck here. </p>

<p>Public high school attended is among top 250 in the country by Newsweek </p>

<p>SAT: 600 CR, 610 M, 640 W (1210/1600, 1850/2400)</p>

<p>GPA: 93.53, Weighted GPA: 94.59</p>

<p>Classes taken: 4 years of Spanish (1 year of honor class, 1 year with college credit option, 1 year elective) , Math, English (2 years of honors classes, 1 year college level with college credit option) , History (1/2 year of AP, 1/2 year of honor class) , Science, Science labs, and electives</p>

<p>Groups/clubs: Foreign Language Honor Society, Art Club, Stock Market Club </p>

<p>Outside activities: Part-time job at retail store doing various jobs (running register, computer maintenance, etc.), Spent 4 weeks during summer performing community service and broadcasting show on live radio, Been away from home many times over past few years during summer </p>

<p>Etc.:
* Applied for Political Science
* Overcame obstacles in life that could have severely hindered grades but cause upward trend in grades
* Upward trend in grades
* Exhibited great interest in attending NEU via emails and asking many questions
* Applied mid october for EA
* Terrific essay
* Great teacher recs and great counselor rec
* Had a leadership position past summer in camp where I performed community service</p>

<p>I would say high match or MAYBE a low reach because of your SAT score. Applying early and demonstrating interest certainly helps, though.
