I’m a rising senior, and from looking online I really like NEU, and think it might be a place I would really want to go. However, I’m from the Midwest and I don’t want to make my parents spend a bunch of money for us to fly out and visit if it isn’t a realistic option for me!

Northeastern looks like a solid match school - go for it if you can!
Make sure that Northeastern would be affordable as well - run the net price calculator.
If you’re going to come out all this way, make sure to check out all the other great schools in Boston too!
Why bump? I think that PengsPhils gave a good answer.
You’re around a match/high match. I would definitely apply, but I wouldn’t expect any major merit aid and I would make sure to apply to some safety schools
As far as flying out goes, do it. There are 81 colleges/universities within a 25 miles radius of downtown Boston. See Northeastern, BU, MIT, Umass Boston, etc. More importantly, make sure that you like the city. Asking my parents to shell out for a trip to Boston–which ended up being a birthday/summer vacation/Christmas present–is the only reason I decided not to apply to BU.
Also, we stayed in Waltham at a place called Cresent Suites Hotel. It was fantastic–a lot like a B&B. Would recommend.
Good luck!
I agree it was a good answer… just wanted as many opinions as possible Thanks for your input and tips! What didn’t you like about Boston?
