I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be considered a very strong candidate for both schools. Your grades and standardized test scores are spectacular, and you’ve taken an amazingly challenging courseload. Continue to stay dedicated to your ECs!

thanks TheFlounder,
do you think there is any way I could improve my chances anymore? and do you think the lack of SAT I will hurt me? I haven’t taken it yet, but doubt I will do well because I got lucky on the ACT as I had already read the book from which the passage for the reading section was taken, and reading was my worst subject, so I doubt I will do as well.

I suggest not putting this on your resume, it may indicate giving up/not continuing.

but anyways, I think you have a pretty good chance for HPME, just be prepared for the interviews.

I don’t think it will hurt at those schools. The ACT dominates the midwest. I wish I wanted to go to one of those schools (I got a 35 composite too).

wow thanks guys! Honestly, I didn’t think i had a very good shot at HPME, but you definitely gave me a lot of confidence. Just have to get the chem and phys sat subject tests in and I think I should be set.

Also, do you think that the fact I did Northwestern Center for Talent Development will help me a lot?

It can’t hurt. You can put it on the Common App and it should impress all of your schools. It won’t be a huge boost, but it will be a boost.

Alright, thanks for your help
