Your posted profile is interesting as you have a fair chance of being admitted to all of your schools depending upon how you proceed. Good chance at Northwestern Univ. if you apply ED and write a convincing "Why NU?" essay. Chances are not as good if you apply regular decision (RD), since Northwestern is a hot school with rapidly rising applications and stats. NYU looks good, especially if you don't need financial aid. Carnegie Mellon, CMU, also looks like a solid match school for you. Tufts and Georgetown are tough to predict. You most likely will be admitted to both, but Georgetown "reads" applications first by high school from which you are applying and eliminates the weakest applicants from that particular high school on an early read. So, with respect to Georgetown, you should be admitted if you are one of the top students from your high school applying to Georgetown Univ. At Tufts, you have a good chance, but are not a sure admit.

^ I really disagree. SAT composite is a 1940 and ACT is a 30. Those are really low for the schools he's aiming for. I don't really see how he can be admitted to CMU, Tufts, or Georgetown on those stats, even with great EC's. Most successful applicants have at least a 2100+.

Northwestern High Reach
Tufts Reach/High Reach
Carnegie Mellon Reach
NYU High Match
Johns Hopkins High Reach
Georgetown High Reach

Try to look for a few match schools and really work on your SAT scores. Good luck =]

hey icy9ff8 im applying to Georgetown as well where did you hear that they "read" applications first by high school? If that's true you may have just relieved some of my stress
