Chances at Northwestern?

This is my friend's dictation to me. Here we go...
I am a junior. I go to a competitive public high school in Ohio (easily top 3 public schools in the state academically). What are my chances?

My dad is Jordanian, so I'm first generation here in the U.S. Does that help my chances?
My sister goes to Northwestern as well...

Stats:
WGPA: 4.07 WGPA
UDPA: probably 3.7-3.8
SAT scores: 1990 (pending retake). 700 R 710 M 580 W (my essay can obviously improve w/ retake).
ACT score: 32 composite (31 W 33 M 34 R 31 S 9 essay).
SAT IIs pending...

A.P. classes taken (by the end of high school):
Computer Science
Statistics
Calculus B.C.
Physics C: Mechanics
Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism

ECs:
I'm very devoted to hockey.
4-year Varsity ice hockey player
11th grade:
All-League Honorable Mention
All-City Honorable Mention (Cincinnati Enquirer)
Outstanding Offensive Player Award

Roller Hockey:
3-years on my school's best inline hockey team
First Team All-Conference this past year

Vice-President of Computer Club

Volunteering:
50+ hours helping at Learn to Skate Hockey

My recommendations will be very strong. Also, my essays will be very good (about being an Arab in post-September 11th America, and another few ideas).

Thank you for your input.

He also has a job at the ice rink by the way. Also, that WGPA is on a 4.5 scale. On a 5-pt. scale, it’s around a 4.35ish.

bumpbumpbump

Northwestern isn’t out of the question right now. GPA’s a bit low and so is the SAT score (even on the 1600 scale, there’s some room to improve. I would try to raise that, but I’m not sure if a 32 ACT makes up for that. Gotta take subject tests too, use the summer to study.

Your ECs could be a bit better, I know most colleges look for leadership. Are there captains on your hockey team, and do you have a shot next year?

I think if you work on some stuff you could be in better shape, it’s a tough school to get into (I’ll be applying next year as well).

the fact that your sister goes will help you more than anything…the SATs are good but not fantastic…also seems like you really only have 1 general EC…not a bad thing, but doesn’t really show true leadership…

bump for SAT II scores

700 Math 2
700 physics (he hasn’t even taken AP yet, largely self-studied)
