Great chance at all schools...good luck.

Any chance for HPME or PLME?

go to JHU if you get into all of them, its by far the best

I will definitely go there if I get in, but my GC told me that she doesn't think I have a very good chance anywhere but Purdue.

Sometimes I feel like people just come here to brag.

(don't worry, that was a compliment; you should at least make 3 of those easily)

your guidance counselor is a moron. go to JHU

notices Midwest

Where are you from?

And I don't know about Brown. JHU you might have a chance at. You'll be a strong contender for all of the rest.

i think you'll get in brown and hopkins, but brown is in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of hippies. go to hopkins if you get in both !

What about Northwestern?

Your Guidance Counselor is incorrect. You are a strong candidate at the other schools, but these things are unpredictable. Now work on presentation of yourself via essays and cover letters and research your schools thoroughly first. I think you would be very happy at JHU in Baltimore, which would put you into the East Coast corridor and connect you to DC as well. Chicago is also a vastly interesting world unto itself and you should research Northwestern heavily and apply! Brown is in a charming seaside location not that far from Boston and New York City. All three schools have much to offer. Good luck!

Northwestern is a really cool school. The professors are great and Evanston is a fun town. It is a VERY short drive to get downtown (Chicago). If you have seen the recent college rankings, NU is definitely on the rise in the public's eyes. There are a ton of rivalries with nearby schools (DePaul and Illinois-well maybe UIUC isn't neighboring but...) and everyone is really smart. Be prepared for the possibility that everyone that you meet there was the valedictorian of their HS class, though. It is the norm.

The valedictorian of my class also applied there... will they be less likely to accept me because of this?

Depends...are you feeling lucky?
You're in at Purdue if you want to go there...

The thing is, everyone from my school goes to Purdue.... I'm also in at Butler, IU, University of Indianapolis, and St Joeseph's College.

Joseph's... sorry

try Carnegie Mellon. They are short girls. A theater school. At same level of NW and better in science-technology. JH does not guarantee housing after 2 year- a real negative and expensive in time and money for most.

Purdue has a great golf course! They're the host of the 2008 NCAA Men's Champtionship! NOW tell me you don't want to go there!

Everyone gets into Purdue though. I'm from an Indiana school VERY close to Lafayette, so like 90% of the college-bound people in my class are going to Purdue. I was kind of hoping to go to a college in a bigger city. A college that doesn't have any students from my hometown...

Good luck! Of these schools Brown would be by second pick after Johns Hopkins. JHU has a great campus and Baltimore- with DC nearby.
