Based on my own, fairly extensive, reading and research, I think your chances are iffy. Your GPA is not high for Northwestern, and while you have a lot of APs, they are not among the hardest ones - e.g., no Calculus, Physics, US or European History. Your ACT is also fine, but not high for NU. (Did you take the SAT or SAT Subject Tests?) On top of that, I suspect that Northwestern will be a bit harder to get into now than in the recent past, because two years ago they had an 18% increase in apps, which they expected to be the last major increase for a few years, but then they had an unexpected 19% bump in apps this past year. The going could be rough. You are certainly a viable candidate, and you might get in, but I wouldn't start booking the plane fare to Chicago yet.

I'd agree your stats might be a hard sell RD, but ED at Northwestern offers an unusual boost to admssion chances when compared with similarly competitive colleges. ED is the ultimate "demonstrated interest."

If Northwestern's your number 1 choice, I'd definitely go for it - early.

on the app do you apply for a certain college?

If yes, is the business school or CAS easier to get into or are they the same and this does not matter in the process?

business school? ur kidding right? there is no undergrad business program at NU. please dont forget to delete that from your essay. CAS is one of the hardest to get into. They just announced that the new median SAT for CAS is 1450.

Wouldn't engineering be like 1470 then? I thought scores for McCormick were usually the highest?

not necessarily. mccormick tends to have lower CR than wcas.

Hahaha I hate having such "evenly spread out" SAT scores. It seems like I'm not really superb at either section. Nowhere near 800 for either...

How come you say your ACT score is 25 in all of your other threads?

O.o Whoa... 25 and 30 are pretty different scores...

Don't hold your breath unless you're being recruited for Tennis.

Definitely apply, I've seen people here with less impressive records than yours.

Yeah, what's the deal with your other threads that say your ACT is 25? Are you wasting our time here with an exercise in fiction, or are you applying for a creative writing program?
If your score is, in fact, a 25 rather than a 30, your chances are de minimis.

Uhh, I would say his chances are poor even with a 30. But hey, that's just me...

Isn't 30 around a 2000? I forget... And even if it is around 2000, it's still a reach.
