Thank you!

can someone be really nice to give me an evaluation? Any comments will be much appreciated!

honestly...i think NYU and University of Rochester will be reaches for you...good luck....by the way, are you only applying to two universities? I suggest you choose some safety schools...

Crillen, I know for a fact that NYU's deadline for Fall '07 has passed.

Why do you say they are reaches, last_stranger? I am not acquainted with University of Rochester, but it looks to me like you have a competative application for NYU. The thing about NYU is, after your first year of college, they do NOT take any SATs or ACT scores. The reason for this is because SAT and ACT scores are strictly to determine how well you will perform in college coming out of high school. Clearly, you are performing well enough to hold your own. NYU is also very holistic. They will look at everything. So I can offer advice to you to work on the essay and recommendations a little. Try to get to know a member of the staff or a teacher very well, prove to them you are interested in this school and make sure they are the kind of people what would write a good recommendation letter.

thank u so much for the suggestion, ianjt, and last_stranger...

I think you will get into NYU CAS:

1) High GPA over 3 semesters at SUNY Buffalo, a pretty good school.
2) Perfect GPA over the summer at CUNY will be included into your overall GPA, meaning your final GPA will probably be a 3.9+.
3) You have appropriate circumstances that prevented you from taking the SAT in high school.

In addition, I am not familiar with URochester's admission rate for transfers but assume that it is easier to get into than NYU.

Your greatest weaknesses are:
1) ECs, which are lackluster but interesting nonetheless
2) The fact that you are an international applicant

Good luck to you.

crillen, btw what's yr name? Im a business major at suny buffalo!

Hey, D-7....good luck with your NYU application. We are in different applicant pool this time since you are applying to Stern. I am also a business student from SUNY Buffalo but i change my mind and want to pursue a liberal arts undergraduate education instead.

thank you so much for your comment...brand 182....all the best with your NYU application.

crillen keep me updated on your acceptances/ rejects? Though I hope not the latter should happen!

D-7 - on a sidenote, I saw your post in the NYU official school forum. I wouldn't suggest posting transfer chances threads in that forum as other members are not capable of replying - instead it is a place where people can ask admissions officers questions directly. They will never tell you your "chances" like we do here, and if you ask them questions like that they may recognize your credentials when reading your application later on and remember your posts.
