Chances at NYU, BU, UMICH, UC Berkeley, UCLA...

Hi, I'm a male chinese junior currently living in ohio. I was wondering what my chances were for the top undergrad business schools. Thanks in advance!

STATS:

High Honor Roll (all years)
GPA: 3.602 (uw), 3.967(weighted)
my school's scale is A+ (100-99), A (98-93), B+ (92-91) B (90-85), C+ (85-84) etc.
*Since I have many B+'s, which would translate into A's at other schools that use the A= 98-90 scale, I was wondering if this would affect my chances. *

^I'm planning to have a 4.2 (w) GPA by the end of this year. (got a 4.42(w) gpa this quarter)^

NYU (Stern) top choice, applying ED
UMICH
UC Berkeley
U of Chicago
UCLA
UPenn (Wharton)- one can dream right?

bump bump... anyone?

bump...plz someone chance me...

first off, ur gonna need to score at least probably a 32 act for stern, and safely a 33 or 34

NYU (Stern) top choice, applying ED-match (if u score well on tests...ur gpa is low 4 stern)
UMICH-match
UC Berkeleky-match (if in state) reach if OOS
U of Chicago-cant say...write amazing essays...AMAZING
UCLA-match(if in state) reach is OOS
UPenn (Wharton)- one can dream right?-reach

Thanks BIGTWIX for the quick post and I guess I better get to studying for those ACTs soon. Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.

NYU (Stern) top choice, applying ED - Match
UMICH - Match (In-state), Slight Reach (OOS)
UC Berkeley - Reach (OOS), Match (In-state)
U of Chicago - Slight Reach / Reach (will depend on your essays)
UCLA - Reach (OOS), Match (In-state)
UPenn (Wharton)- one can dream right? Agreed

would umich really be a "slight reach"? I was under the impression that NYU stern was a harder school to get into. Also UMich has rolling admissions and you don't apply directly to the business school.

but youre applying ED to stern, which makes it easier. Also, Michigan basically uses a formula with grades and SAT scores (they also disregard freshman grades) to make decisions.

on a side note, thats a terrible grading system that your high school uses

scorp_ion:

UCB/UCLA: Reach (out of state)

You have little to no chance at ROSS as a preadmit. But UMich weighs GPA heavily and you are OOS with slightly above average ACT/SAT scores but below average GPA. Additionally UMich does not count any non-academic classes so your GPA will probably drop a little bit. Your almost identical to me (3.6 UM/UW GPA, 32 ACT here with very good EC's, and legacy at UMich, and in-state) and even then I consider UMich a match. My friend with a 3.7 and 31 and decent EC's and he's in-state was deferred and he was in the first batch to recieve decisions. UMich is defintly a slight reach without a doubt in my honest opinion

wow...I thought my grading scale was bad...
