Course Rigor: extremely difficult for my school- 9 AP’s (Lit, Lang, French, Bio, Environmental, World, U.S. History, Gov, Art History - 4’s in all except a 3 in bio) and one IB (TOK)

My stats are similar, I have a similar GPA and rank but I went through specific circumstances in my life due to racial harassment at my school and personal struggles. I have really high ECs, awards, and leadership positions, high SAT score and have taken 10 APs so I’m aiming for Georgetown and hoping they consider the circumstances that caused my low GPA (thus killed my rank). If you have special circumstances you should definitely shine a spot light on that, but you’re definitely a strong applicant for those schools.

GPA is within range of your choice of schools, and I’d say you have a good chance at UMiami and NYU, especially with those extracurriculars! ACT is in range of NYU and UMiami, but I am not so sure about Brandeis University, however if you write compelling essays…you will have a standing chance. Rank does not matter for the schools your applying to, its really only ivies and top 20 types.

Wow your ECs are really good… your ACT is also in the higher end of the 25%-75% bracket… I would say you have a pretty good chance for all your unis… All the best

BU - High reach
NYU - Low reach
GWU - Low reach
UMiami - Match
Brandeis - Low reach

Only weakness is GPA, depends perhaps on how good you did first half of senior year. Solid EC’s and ACT. If your essays are as compelling as listed, then I’d say BU, NYU, and Brandeis are moderate reaches, with the rest being matches. Good luck

One of my friends got into Brandeis ED without any hooks and with a lower GPA, I think her SAT was a 1300 or a little below, but that’s ED so idk. I think Brandeis is a definite possibility. Your ACT is within the range for NYU. I think you have a chance.

I’m assuming you are a senior (as am I), so at this point many of your apps have been submitted. In that case, there is no need for you to build all of this worry and go around college confidential asking for “chance me’s.” Kids on here won’t be able to tell you whether or not you’ll get in, especially when many of your schools listed are between matches and reaches.

That said, I will suggest you add some more safety schools to your list. I also think that you are a competitive applicant – test scores, hard courses, and EC’s all add up to a strong profile.

Match for UMiami and NYU, low reach for BU, GW, and Brandeis. good that your GPA shows an upward trend and your ECs and essays should help you stand out.
