Hello everyone, I am looking to get an opinion on whether or not I have a shot at getting into any of the schools mentioned above. My numbers are nothing too special, but it's something.

GPA- 3.9 (97.6) unweighted 4.4 (109) weighted
SAT- 660m 680v 680w
SAT II- took them in December, but expected a 700ish range

EC- Restaraunt Club, Business Club, Summer Volunteering at Hospital

I currently am heavily involved with the stock market through independent study and research, which I could not include in my applications outside of the essays.

For NYU, I plan on attending Stern.

Any input (positive or negative) is appreciated~~
Thanks in Advance!

I think your scores are a little low and that you have no real "hook" for the Ivies, but with a strong essay and strong recs you could overcome these. I'd say you have a decent shot at NYU, but that the non-number parts of your applications are going to make it or break it. Good luck!

i know, but NYU is in downtown, meaning i can keep a closer relationship with some of the business folk over there. my teacher told me that if i get accepted into both, i should go to columbia (in more vulgar language), but NYU's place also means i can live in midtown instead of dorming.

and arggg, thanks a lot. i am pleased as i have done the best academically as i possibly can do. hopefully my first trimester senior grades are in the 97 range (unweighted)

I'm male and spanish. also I'm 16, born 1991 I did 4th and 5th grade in the same year, so I should be a junior now.

zylons, yeah I wish to study business. I wish to begin my own hedge fund at around 27. judging just from EC's it probably shows that I'm lazy (which I'm not saying I'm not) but it doesnt show how much I spend following the markets. I can only wish that my essays can pull me through.
