Ok, I'm a hispanic female, SAT 1320, GPA (according to Princeton reviews website) 3.1. Took 3 SAT II's, U.S. History=640, Writing=690, and Literature=700. Don't have any e.c.'s (except for a term of fencing), as was sitting mentally troubled younger sibling until spring of junior year, when cheap sitter was found, allowing me to get a job at a law firm, which I still hold. Diverse parentage...that is, mother is Master's degree holder in guidance, with father high-school dropout doorman. Also have 6 (3 sis, 3 bro) half-siblings (from father). Poor GPA caused mostly by freshman and sophmore mess-ups, while last 2 years have been 94-ish averages in attempt to make up. Go to an arts high school, where I am a singer (have studied German, Italian, opera, etc.) and performed in multiple shows. Took some honors and A.P. classes...English Lit. AP=3, Spanish AP=4, and honors where english, spanish, and history. Pretty good essay, excellent rec.'s from some assistant priciples as well as regular teachers.
Sorry that was so long-winded :) So, anyone have ideas on chances in schools like NYU, or on any other schools that might be a good match for me? Thanks for your help!

what school at NYU? stern, CAS, etc...? you're a solid candidate...same stats as me. except my SAT is a bit higher, and my GPA is around a 3.9...GPA might hurt..but you're at a 70/60 percent chance.

Oh, sorry, forgot to mention...ok, I'm thinking CAS. Also, my separate scores on the SAT I were 720 for english and 600 in math. My school doesn't do ranking, so I have no clue where I am in those terms. My school also is competitive when it comes to the arts (you get in through an audition, and the school only accepts 600 out of about 1,800 applicants), but I don't know how competitive it is academically. So...yeah, thanks! :)

do u live in nyc sakura?..do u go to laguardia?

Ok, this is what I'm looking at now:
Boston U
Fordham
NYU
Sarah Lawerence
GW
some CUNY and (maybe) SUNY

and potentially:
Skidmore
Hofstra
Wheaton
Goucher
Rider
Simmons

The last 3 were college mentor suggestions...anyway, what do you guys think? Respond soon-gotta send out those apps!!!!! Thanks!

Oh, and quick side not-found out that 2,519 applied for singing last year, and only 200 made it, so school is more competitive than originally thought. Also forgot to mention that while I didn't do afterschool stuff, I did work in 3 different school offices the entire time I've been in school (didn't eat lunch instead). Ok, that's it :) Thanks again!

if u look at cuny, wit ur stats check out the cuny honors college prog

I did, but average was too low, and my mentor said there was no chance- that CUNY honors only looks at grades and SAT, so...yeah, besides its past the application date, so I'm stuck with regular as my safety. But what about the others? Can anyone rate my chances, like on a 1-10 scale, or even safety, reach, etc.? Thanks!
