I had an amazing audution and I was probably the only classical pianist auditioning. The co-deparment head of the Music Tech department seemed to really like me! Most of the kids auditioning were guitarists, basists, singers, and saxaphonists. I think only 8 or 9 people auditioned for early decision. I have a great resume including working for the Boston Symphony Orchestra for a summer program. I have been playing piano for twelve years and percussion for 8 years. However my SAT scores are the low side. My GPA is alright its a 3.1 UW 3.7 Weighted. Do you think that NYU Steinhardt Music Tech could reject me on the basis of low SAT scores?

I heard if you have over 1100 on your SAT and they really love your audition you could get in (Tisch Dance). But that was last year. This year they have a new Pres. of the school who wants to see higher SATs. Some say he might not realize that artists spend so much time honeing their craft that there is no time to take all those SAT prep courses. There are a lot of ways of being "smart". Here's hoping (for both our sakes) Tisch doesn't put SATs before talent , and that NYU Tisch ends up being a mediocre Arts school. Well.... there is always Juilliard.

I ment to say NYU Tisch "DOESN'T end up being a mediocre Arts school"
