I am currently a Junior in high school. I plan on applying early decision to NYU Stern (but am fine with getting into the liberal studies program). Here are my grades. basically I have taken all honors except pre-calc and I am taking AP US HIstory. My overall GPA is probably going to be a 3.7 unweighted. (It was a 3.96 last year but I got psyched out by junior year and am getting 3 B's). My SATs are about a 1940 but I plan on taking them again...lets say I get a 2000 or above

Clubs
- TV Club for 4 years (I've been secretary once and treasurer twice)
- Interact Club for 3 years (I've been an officer for 2 years)
- Debate Club for 3 years
- National Honors Society for 2 years
- FBLA (I've been an officer for 2 years)
- founder and president of Jewish Student Union (2 years)

Also, if it helps, i am taking all honors next year along with AP Stat, AP English and AP Economics. This summer I am taking a college sociology course.

What do you think my chances are?

Try to get straight As or close from now, get your SAT to around 2100 and make sure your math scores are high. Take the math SAT 2 and try to get 750-800. You should be fine then. If you got an internship or something like that over the summer, it would help considerably.

Actually I don’t need SAT II’s as stated in the NYU standardized test requirements part of their website.

[Standardized Tests](<a href=“Standardized Tests”>Standardized Tests)

Right, but Stern places high emphasis on math which is why I recommend you take the math SAT 2. you don’t have to, but it will help

Yah definitley get your SATs up, but other than that everything looks pretty good!

I might take the SAT II for math in June but NYU clearly states that they either want the SAT OR three SAT subject tests OR ACT, etc… but not a combination of the many tests one can take. If you look on their website they emphasize the “or” pretty greatly and it applies to all undergraduate applicants regardless of whether it is Stern or not.

Oh that’s weird I didn’t know that. In fact I have never heard of such a thing. The single choice between SAT or ACT makes sense, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t want to get a better idea of students’ abilities with the SAT II. anyways, forget my comments then
