Chances at NYU?

Hey, I just opened an account here so excuse me if I'm posting it wrong or something lol..
I would love to get into NYU but am not sure if I should even bother.

I have a 3.6 UW GPA/ 4.8 Weighted. 4 APs, plus 9 college classes, through a full-time dual enrollment program I am doing at Florida Int University for my senior year (I will have a college GPA as well).

1950 on SAT- 1250 on reading/ math. Will be retaking in October, aiming for a 2000/1300.

Took 3 subject tests...bombed lit, got a 610 in math level 1 (weakest subject!), and 670 in Spanish. Are subject tests still required? I will retake these if they are.

I'm in 3 honors societies, a couple of clubs, but will be joining more my senior year. I was also in cross country for 2 years and played percussion in band for 1 year.

I have 120 volunteer hours, by the end of the summer I should have about 200, from 2 animal shelters, a cat network, and a hospital.

I'm a pretty decent writer from what others have told me, and I plan to spend a lot of time on my essays, and can get good recommendations from teachers.

I am so paranoid! If you think I have no chance, do you have any suggestions for schools in NYC? I would like to stay within 30 minutes of the city.

Also, if you'd like, can you tell me my chances at Uni of Michigan, Unvi of Wisconsin- Madison, Uni of Minnesota- Twin Cities, and Uni of Texas as Austin? I am from FL.

I plan to go into Biology!

Thanks so much!!

I think it depends on what school you plan to enter within the NYU branch. I, myself, am ED-ing to NYU Stern which is more competitive, than say, NYU CAS. I would need more information to make an honest assessment. But judging on academics/SAT alone I would say that you fit the 50th percentile of the NYU standard. Try raising both your SAT scores and GPA. Also, what leadership roles have you taken? Also be aware that a leadership title is next to useless (in my opinion, not sure if college admission officers feel the same way). You actually have to make a difference and have an impact on the club you are leading.
