My school and his school are in 2 opposte directions.

i also wrote about how the envioronment i grew up in has shaped me to be a strong perservering leader and how people see me as a leader not because of my large frame ( i am 6'4) but because of the attidude i have when i am in the room.

how my parents accident coupled with my volunteering at the hospital has changed my outlook on life and how i found my true calling which is medicine because God has blessed me with intelligence and lots of empathy towards the needy and weak.

i also included in my essay a great quote from one of a famous surgeon (i am drawing a blank on his name right now) but it said " i was never the smartest in med school, but what i lacked in ability i made up with through discipline." i think this quote really applies to me and i explained why.

other information

im from california

im top 10% in my class of 750

i am male and i know it is a advantage, a small one but an advantage non the less

you guys disregard the D in ap chem. i ended up with a C-.

ur EC’s are actually really good, which those schools will probably end up considering since ur pretty borderline with UC Davis. I’d say your chances are 50/50 at UC Davis
UCLA and UCB are not miracles like u stated, id say u have a shot with all those AP’s ur taking, even if u got a few poor marks u still show that ur motivated and able to take a tough course load. those may be low reaches

i know nothng about cal poly though

CHANCE ME BACK !

bump uc davis chances please!!!

Just the fact that you are from California will be an advantage over out of state-rs like me. and thats impressive that youre in top 10 out of 750!!

You have a shot at all of them especially with the amount of AP’s you have taken . You have a good chance at UC Davis, I think. Youre gonna get into UCSB.

UCLA and UCB wouldnt be great miracles! It is a reach but I think that you have a good shot at it. A D will kill you but i mean at least you got a C :). Im not sure about Cal Poly but I do know a girl who got in there. UCLA and UCB are known for Business (which im applying to ) but for pre med, I guess you have to see their program.

Youre essay sounds interesting too.It sounds like you really know what you want to do in life.
Good Luck :)

i think you’re a match at ucdavis. although you want to be premed, it’s discouraging that you got a D in ap chem(muy importante para medicina). you might have a chance at ucla, but your ec’s really stand out. good job man.

dude i just found out that i had gotten a C- instead of the D+ i thought i got and i retook regualar chem. for nothing which is stupid of me i know.
