so do i have any chance at Penn (my dream school) if I go ED?

pretty regular applicant. if you can raise SAT to 2250+, you should be in. otherwise, maybe a 50% shot. also, you'll need 3 750+ SAT IIs. be sure to write a great essay.

From what I've heard Penn really likes ED applicants, so I think you have a pretty good chance. Your test scores are within their range, your GPA is high, and your ECs are good. You will need SAT IIs, but I don't think they all need to be 750+ as the above poster said. Just try to average 750+ with the three tests.

I got in ED (Wharton) last year and I think you have a good chance ED. You seem involved in your activities. The quantatative stats are solid. Show passion in your essays and you should be set to have a good shot ED.

thanks - i go to a small private academy with only about 110 seniors, there isnt an official class rank, but im definitely top 5

does that hurt that there is no class rank? also, do sat II's weigh as heavy as regular sat's in Penn's decision? isnt there the option to just turn in the ACT with writing without turning in SAT II's, or would that look bad?

Could you recommend any other matches/safeties?

Bobby: No, im not looking at Wharton I was definitely thinking "the college." im intersted in journalism/communications/english (thats why missouri)...

By the way my dad and I met Lee Stetson (Penn's Dean of Undergrad Admissions) and since then he invited us to meet with him in his office at penn which went well, he even talked about a possible job in the admissions office, he also called a graduating senior who is going there and asked about me and got a good response from the kid, also contacted my college counselor and got (apparently) a glowing response...what do you think, possible hook? are most Deans of admission that proactive? or is that pretty common?

hey your stats are definitely equal if not better than mine lol.
i trashed my act (30), i'm not even going to say that i took it.

you have a plethora of ECs. you're totally set in that field.

and for academics, you may not be perfect either but you're totally
better off than i am. i heard colleges don't like "perfect" candidates
because then it makes them seem like they are robots with no lives.

hey, i respect your opinion and i know i don't have a very good chance, but no chance at all? ive looked at some of your other posts and you seem to always tell people they have no chance at penn... but i have two actual questions for you: what is the part that tells you i have no chance? and do you think it is easier to get into penn ED or RD?
