Chances at Pitt Main and Duquesne?

Next year I'll be a senior and I'm beginning to apply to colleges. My first choice is Pitt Main where I also got a special status offer with priority consideration for the honors college and scholarships. I received the offer in May and applied in June. They said that I will be one of the first students that they review for admission in early August. So far, I've only applied to Pitt. I have one letter of recommendation and I completed all 3 essays.

Also I'm wondering why Pitt would send me special status when I originally only had a 1590 on the SAT to show for standardized test scores. I recently earned a 25 on the ACT though.

Anyways, here are my grades and test scores.

Weighted GPA: 4.000
Unweighted GPA: Around a 3.8
ACT Composite: 25
ACT Writing: 27
ACT Math: 25
ACT Reading: 22
ACT Science: 24

I'm taking all AP or CHS classes my senior year. These include AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP English Lit & Comp, AP Government, CHS Statistics, and CHS Visual Basic.

So what do you think my chances are at all of the above schools where I may be applying?

Good move applying to Pitt early as they are a rolling admissions school. This should give your application a boost. You may want to retake the ACT. I believe Pitt does superscore the ACT. Good luck to you.

I also forgot to mention that I took the writing part of the ACT (which I think Pitt requires) and I got a 9 on it.

I am retaking both the SAT and ACT in October and December.

Pitt said that with the special status I would get an admission decision in three weeks and they are starting to view applications in early August.

Do you think with what I have right now that I will get accepted being that I am applying so early from the special status? Does the special status have any impact on their admission decision?
