Chances at Pitzer as a transfer student?

Hi! I'm currently a freshman at UCSC and I've decided I really want to transfer back to a school close to home. I've been looking at the Claremont Colleges, Pitzer in particular because I really identify with its values of social justice, ect. and how they are geared towards students interested in the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences. I really like how its a small liberal arts college in a consortium, not to mention that it's in socal and I really miss being down there! Anyways, the transfer date for sophomore applicants is still open for spring semester of next year. I'm curious about whether any of you guys know of someone who has gotten into Pitzer as a transfer student NOT from a community college and what the process was like for them. I know my chances are very, very slim but I'm willing to work hard during this last quarter, take community college classes over the summer, and continue to raise my GPA and make my application more appealing.

Right now at UCSC I currently have 42 credits, and will have completed another 17 by the end of this quarter. My GPA is honestly terrible right now.. some of the GE's that I had to take I completely ********ed my way through so I currently have a 3.1 GPA. In high school I had a 3.7/3.8, a 2020 SAT score. Throughout high school, I was on the dance team and orchestra for 3 years, I also participated in several youth ensembles outside of school in the OC. I have continued with dance and music here at UCSC and actually plan to double major in music and sociology. Do you think this is important that I have shown a strong passion for the arts and have continued through with them even after high school?

I've also studied abroad in Barcelona (don't know how good this looks but I read that Pitzer offers many study abroad programs so maybe if I've already been involved in programs before it will look good? Don't know..just throwing in whatever I can). I know the way that Pitzer chooses its students is a very selective process and I've been told that your standing academically isn't as important as showing that you have a strong passion for something? I most definitely plan to raise my grades and since I'm also planning on majoring in sociology and am interested in social justice, ect. would it look good if I did some volunteer work or something like that over the summer that pertained to this so the school would know I'm really passionate about what I plan to major in?

For those of you who have gotten into Pitzer whether as a transfer student or as a freshman applicant or if you know you someone who has, would you be kind enough to tell me what your stats were and what your essays were about or what you think the school is looking for in a potential student?

I am really set on transferring from UCSC, which was definitely a last option and I regret not applying to more schools during my senior year of high school. However, what's happened has already happened and now I can only move forward from here. I'm definitely willing to do whatever it takes to transfer and I want to keep my options open. If you guys have any other suggestions or recommendations for other schools that I should potentially look at then feel free to let me know!

Anything helps, thank you so much! :)
