i know im rly involved w/ school and stuff im in a ton of clubs and im class president, but i know even ppl like me who are veruy active in school can sometimes get rejected. so can u pls enlighten me and let me know what u think my odds are?? thx!

you’re definitley involved, but i think you may have a hard time because of your gpa. It’s not low for most schools, but average GPAs at Ivies are usually in the 3.8-4.0 unweighted range. then again, if you can do well on the SAT or ACT it could really help! good luck :)

Sorry to break it to you, but a 27 ACT doesn’t even come close to cutting it. And the gpa is not nearly good enough. Academics is #1, so without those, you ain’t gettin’ into any ivy let alone Princeton.

Your EC’s may be involved but they don’t show extreme skill, and I’m not sure if they show passion. Your GPA is somewhat low and your ACT very low… sorry, but I don’t think you have a chance.

The GPA is low for an Ivy-League applicant. But there is still a chance, if you score extremely well on your SAT’s. Winning national awards helps, as well.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you have a really really low chance. Read some of the chance threads around here, or check the CollegeBoard stats. Most of those accepted to Princeton have 2200+ SAT (or 32+ ACT), 3.9+ GPA, tons of extracurriculars (and officer positions/heavy involvement), national awards, etc… Honestly, right now I’d suggest that you just hold onto the $80.

Princeton’s still going to be difficult. The valedictorian of my class with a 4.0 UW/105 weighted GPA (out of 100), 2350 SAT, and numerous national accolades got waitlisted. Unless the school you go to is a top 10 nationwide school you’ll need luck on your side.

But burchmatt is an ass, don’t listen to that clown.

If I were you though, if you have no other schools that you really want to apply EA/RD, you might as well go SCEA Princeton, that might be where you have a slight chance. Of course, I assume that there’s other schools you’ve looked into and you may have considered applying early to them too.
