By my senior year, I will have completed 170 service hours and have some very good recommendations. I am also ranked 3rd out of 100 students and have held this rank throughout highschool Please chance me for the following:

ED to Princeton

Your SAT is terrible, that will hurt you.

I say....deferred...but that's just me. You've got some good stats, but I'm just not sure they make you stand apart. We'll see though...you've certainly got a shot.

You wouldn't happen to be from Pensacola Christian, would you?

"Average GPA: 4.6 Unweighted"

You'll definitely get in. You beat the system.

i think u have quite a good chance. although u obviously want to improve ur Sats, i think they value ur courseload and results in these more highly than SATs

Wait, what grade are you in? If you are not a senior this year, then you cannot apply ED to Princeton anymore.

Also it should be noted that Princeton recalculates your GPA without freshman year, electives, or weighting.

oh sorry, that should say 4.6 Weighted** sorry... and no, I am from http://www.csca.us

i dont know why people are saying you have a good chance...an SAT of 1900 will almost never get anyone into an ivy league school...unless of course if you were a URM, which you are not...

In any case, if you're going ED this year, put your name on the roster.

average.

decent chance. if ED-probably deferred

Hey, none of you guys have the right to say that anyone won't get in or will get deferred if you yourself are applying this year.

Why not? Granted, our opinion isn't necessarily unbiased, but I think we are entitled to our opinion, especially when someone asks for it. Also, we're not saying that the person will or will not get in for sure...just what we think will happen based on what we've seen (and based on the person against other people). I realize our opinion isn't perfect, but (no offense intended) I'm not quite sure why that waives my right to assert my opinion.

clen, saying "probably" isnt the same as saying that "anyone won't get in or will get deferred..."

and even if we do get in or don't, a couple months won't drastically change our way of thinking or knowledge of the admissions process. We, as CC'ers and as obsessed applicants ourselves, do have some knowledge about the type of applicants/applications that exhibit enough strength to get accepted. I don't think anyone will argue that a 1900 SAT score is exactly stellar. Nor would anyone argue the fact that the EC's listed above as a whole are kind of all over the place, not showing passion in one area.

actually they do, and that "area" is leadership; no matter what position I'm in, I am a leader- whether it's tennis (my favorite), cross country, or even National Honors Society. I show a passion for business as well seeing as to how I am in FBLA and have held internships at Smith Barney, not to mention the fact I am a co-founder and VP of a business (the name, or kind shall remain disclosed). Anyway, I truly appreciate all of your feedback, you bunch are obviously knowledgable and I am glad to have come here for chancing, but please, keep posting feedback!

Take all responses in this thread with a grain of salt. Many of the people here are no different than you, and aren't exactly qualified. As such, they can only give an opinion based on what they know at the moment. I'm not detracting from them, but dont let any responses give you either a false sense of hopelessness or security. Personally, I think its more important that you have leadership and passion than SAT scores. However, I really think taking the SATs again is a must. A 1900 isnt exactly Princeton material, so you will have to show that youre great in other areas so they will view your SAT score less and less. But, I'm just another prospective, so take my opinion with a grain of salt as well.

Well said, BD. None of us really knows what he/she is talking about enough to have someone else base his/her whole attitude on our opinions!

Speak for yourself btlesgirl!

;)

Kidding of course. It seems silly that people would need to be reminded of that. This is the internet, you shouldn't trust anything on it with blind faith.

"Take all responses in this thread with a grain of salt."

i agree. but when someone asks for opinions on their "chances," that's what people are going to do. i think its obvious that our predictions aren't absolute.
