outstanding rec.s

this is my friends profile (she doesnt have internet access) and im trying to figure out why she got waitlisted after being deferred. (yeah im a good friend)

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!!

They'll probably give your friend some sort of merit scholarship on account of her high SAT...

thats why we're so confused. she got waitlisted there. no money. nothing. and that was after being deferred early action. we're trying to figure out if she actually qualifies or if it was a reach and thats why she was waitlisted

What? That's BS...

57% of all admitted students had a 3.49 GPA or lower.

75th %ile SAT is 1280 (old test).

She should have gotten in!

haha tell providence that. she's sending them all these extra rec.s and stressing like crazy cos she wants to be there so bad.

Your friend can do better than Providence. She should just tell them off and go somewhere better, like Boston University, or even Boston College

that is really strange. how much time did she spend on her essays? maybe they didn't think it sounded like she was interested? I can't imagine they wouldn't accept her with decent stats and those sats.

she spent a good amount of time on the essays. i have them on my computer if anyone wants yto look at them. i go to a comm. college and was tryimg to helkp her edit them and stuff but i coulndt find anything. theyre good. she wrote thema personal statemnt saying on interested she was and all that. so we dont know what it is.

I hope she applied to some more schools. I think the problem with Providence is that they've been trying to attract men for some time now, and that could easily be the reason, too many girls applied, but it's bs, she deserves much better. I got into Tufts with lower stats than her this year, so I certainly hope she applied to some stronger schools. Good luck!

I know some of my friends were deferred from tufts. I have heard of colleges deferring people to see if they are passionate or not about their college. Also I have heard of colleges deffering qualified candidates because they had high stats. Maybe this is what happened to your friend. Once again I am just speculating.

^ Honestly, the deferral from Tufts thing isn't a high stats reasoning, that would just be silly, but from what I've seen, it's more of the fact that it's a small school who only wants people who WANT to go there, and Providence may think the same way.

the strongest school she applied to was bard so shes waiting on that. she was so worried her grades werent good enough for anything stronger. maybe its hr essays? will someone take a look?

I will look at her essays, I'm no expert, but I applied to 10 schools and have done as much research as you can and would be glad to help. She should get into Bard, which is a very good school, I considered applying there.

should i PM them to you or what?

Sure, or you can email them to me.
