Considering my upward trend in gpa what would be my chances at Purdue?

Well, I can say that improvement was made in the last term. If you are able to provide a fantastic essay ( and if letters of recommendation are required: NETWORK like crazy to get a good letter from a respected individual) you should have a competitive shot. Just make sure you are able to clearly point out your strengths and what makes you unique; also put some flaws that inhibited you from preforming well early in you high school career.

Now…the topic of direct admissions into the Computer Science department is a completely different story. Unless you have worked at respected corporation and done amazing work or have previous work done at an advance level-chances are you won’t get direct admissions. But that’s fine. Get into the school then apply to the college with the help of an internal counselor. Life becomes easy. I think you have a good shot at Purdue.

monk are you saying you need all that to get into comp sci at purdue?
I have a 31 act and a 4.2 W with a 3.5 UW? Do i still need those?

Well I don’t know your full conditions, but the individual above seems to be a bit ahead of themselves (unless they have proper qualifications not listed) when it comes to direct admissions into the computer science department. Don’t get me wrong. If you are applying to be a Freshmen with a declared major in Computer Science, you should be fine. You will then go through the courses required before becoming a Computer Science Major (called prerequisites). But to get direct admission is something that most college sophomores/juniors get in most schools.

Both of you won’t need to worry if you are applying as an Undergrad student with the intention to declare a Computer Science major. With the information you provided, I would see it very difficult for Purdue to turn your application down. Just make sure you provide everything they require and a good essay.

Your SAT’s are all in their upper percentages of acceptance, since they average 600 in the upper quartile for the three tests.
The problem with not having EC’s freshman and sophmore year means that a college rep can easily pick out that you said, “Oh crap, I need EC’s to look good to a college.” That lack of motivation would be the only thing that could be your downfall.
I’d say if you wrote a great essay, your chances would be good. Match.
