Chances at Rice, UVA, UNC, ect?

Hi! I’m a senior and I’m worried about my chances at Rice and a few other schools. I’m applying to rice with early binding decision, UVA, Wake, and UNC with non-binding decisions. and a few other safety schools that I’m not worried about. What are my chances?

Background: female / low income single mother family / living in Texas

Academics:
ACT- 35
SAT- 1520
GPA- 3.75 (unweighted) or 4.55 (weighted)
12 AP classes by graduation (5s on my APUSH and WAP test, 4s on Lang and Bio, 3 on Stats (probably won’t submit that))

Extracurricular (they’re all over the place but…):

  • 4 yrs of lacrosse
  • 3 yrs of debate
  • did Youth and Government and Model UN last year
  • had an month long internship at a marine conservation organization this summer (100+ hrs)
  • done over 100 hrs of other volunteer work (clean up after Harvey, volunteering at jr high debate tournaments, ect)
  • my junior year and this year I shadow a doctor 5 hrs a week
  • NHS
  • 3yrs of NEHS

Application: I’ve got really good letters of rec from my counselor and teachers. My essays are actually really good too and my one answering the common app is my prized possession- I’ve put way too much work into my essays.

With your numbers and extracurriculars, you definitely have a solid chance. Good luck!

Probably good chance for Rice. Only thing I would say is lack of leadership, but I don’t know if that should matter too much.
