Chances at rice?

<p>I am a rising senior at a competitive public school in Texas that sends many grads to top schools. I am Asian and Male.</p>

GPA - Weighted: 4.288 (should go up, i had a beastly junior year)
Class Rank: 13
Class Size: 1017
Top 2%</p>

<p>Good teacher recs
Hopefully i can write good essays</p>

Jan Test
Math: 740
Critical Reading: 700
Writing: 700, 9 essay
Total: 2140</p>

Math: 800
Critical Reading: 630!!!
Writing: 770, 9 essay

dropped orch after 10th for medical science, but in a small orch group still

<p>what are my chances at rice? i will be trying for the rice/baylor prog but i have a low chance of making that.</p>

<p>if at all you can raise your CR SAT score, you should be fairly competitive for Rice/Baylor. Good Luck (You wouldn't happen to be from Plano, would you).</p>

You definitely don't need to take the SAT again with that ACT, even though your essay is a bit low - but who cares that much about Humanities at Rice ;)? Otherwise, sounds like you have a decent shot - no guarantees for anyone, but in state helps somewhat.</p>

<p>Instate doesn't help - makes it harder! And President Leebron is looking to increase out-of-state enrollment, while holding instate numbers steady.... but definitely apply, and, your numbers look fine. :)</p>
