<p>G'day all. I've heard a bunch of different things about acceptances at RPI so I figured i'll let you all judge and evaluate my chances. the thing is, I'm not that great in the math dept, and I am hoping my EC's, etc, will make up for that... I am aiming for the EMAC dept, and I don't know too much about it!</p>
<p>Female, Asian, senior at a public high school in Metrowest Boston.
3.5 weighted GPA, four AP classes (USH, Psych, CompSci, Eng)
SATs M: 640 W: 700 V: 690</p>
<p>I've gotten generally B's in math classes, but the highest level I took was Precalc and it was a standard class.. only advanced math is AP CompSci but its not <em>really</em> a math class.</p>

Business Professionals of America (placed 2nd in Website Development at States 2 yrs straight, aiming for 1st this year =D. Competed at National level in Anaheim and Orlando)

<p>I unfortunately don't do any sport, but I have had three jobs since junior year, 2 of which I still hold; Web Developer and Tech at a local computer repair shop, web developer at a music promotional company (that works with some big bands like Aerosmith), and for a summer was a QA Engineering intern at Gather.com.</p>
<p>I am the first female to get A+ Certified at my school.</p>
<p>I own and maintain an online music magazine which has been running strong for almost 4 years and has dozens of label and PR contacts (probably will be my essay).</p>
<p>I know I'm not really the typical candidate (ie not good at math and more interested in creative stuff), but I wonder if that hurts or helps my chances. Thoughts?</p>
