chances at rutgers-new brunswick

how are my chances at rutgers at the new brunswick campus?--
i have a 1210 sat
89.3 weighted gpa (85.6 unweighted)
decent EC's
well-written essay

thanks

I think you have a very good chance. I learned alot through my GC and he showed me a list of people who go in last year and their stats and it ranged from anywhere between someone with a 2.8 gpa or a person with a 4.2 GPA who only got 1000 on their SAT's. So, your stats look good, and an essay and EC always add. Rutgers is actually my top choice school, but my SAT was a little lower. Good luck :)

yeah u got a great shot if u are from NJ. I got in too and may attend.

thanks but im not from new jersey.. is this going to really hurt me?

No... I think you'll get in.

thanks alot.. i hope so. .if I get in ill prob. attend.. anyone else?

I got in already, woot woot! I think you'll get in. :)

cool.. what were your stats?

You definitely would get accepted into Rutgers University. The question is: into what college at Rutgers U.? Make sure you do your homework and find out about the four different colleges under the Rutgers University umbrella. All four of these schools are located in New Brunswick.

thanks toblin..im looking into the university college-new bruns. . do u have any info on this college?.. thanks alot

actually to help me out even further, which college has journalism?..

aselig01- what program did you get into or are you going just as a regular freshman? Because I know pharmacy and those departments know before everyone else. I applied for for a freshman and live in NJ and just wanted to know when they give out decisions

Ah, my bad. My last post was supposed to be asked to herestoyou

Actually, the University College is geared for adult part time students. Night and weekend classes. see: http://ucnb.rutgers.edu/

All four regular colleges in New Brunswick offer a Journalism Major. This is how most people would rank them in order of difficulty for admission and prestige:

Rutgers College
Douglass College (females only)
Cook College
Livingston College

Unlike the independent schools at RU, (e.g. RU, School of Engineering), I don’t know if you apply to a specific college at RU or if they assign one to you when you’re accepted.

thanks alot.. ill definitely look into it.. have you applied there yourself?

I have a ?, how do you guys have time to post on CC while you're at school? If I try surfing the web during my pc class, my teacher gets really mad :(

Nah you find out the same time. I applied Pharmacy, engineering, and some other stuff and found out about all at the same time.

my stats were 1450 3.9 random Ecs

Do I have a shot at Livingston or Cook?

GPA- exactly 3.0
SAT- 1100- 560 Verbal, 540 Math
NJ resident
I have over a year of work experience (if that means anything)
I got a recommendation from my guidance counselor (but I heard they don't look at those)
My brother is going to Rutgers College right now

I also applied to Montclair State and Rowan. Any idea on those?

what are you majoring in?

Who are you asking?

If it's me, then I want to major in Exercise Science and Sports.
