These are your proposed safety schools? I'm not trying to be harsh but you might want to think about re-visiting the concept of "safety". Bucknell is a match. The rest are match/reaches or reaches for you. Some of the schools you listed are not sure bets for 36/2400 State and National EC level students.

I'm glad you are optimistic but please temper it with realism and get yourself some real safeties that you would like to attend. Two would be fine. You have an excellent record but many, many students with substantially higher scores are applying to the same places and some of them will have better EC's. Do a search on "Andi's son" and his empty Easter basket last spring. It's an eye opener. Good luck.

If you read the biline... they are "safetyier" schools. I am already accepted into my true safeties, U of wis. madison, and univeristy of illinois champaign urbana... and I assume I will be accepted to u of mich...

These are to me a bit more of sure bets, while they are a bit of stretch, much less of a stretch than some other ones im applying to...

The ESSAYS are quite important at UChi so I wouldn't call that a safety, nor would I call Brown one simply because its an unpredictable ivy league school. The remaining schools are indeed safeties/matches and you should get into those schools without really any trouble.

Brown no channce
University of Chicago maybe
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill no channce
Notre Dame maybe
Claremont McKenna no
Pomona no
Bucknell yes
Davidson? maybe

Brown no channce

Claremont McKenna ??
Pomona yes
Bucknell yes
Davidson? yes

Oh, btw... the other schools am about to apply to (this weekend), Stanford EA, Georgetown, Duke, Vandy, Harvard and yale (why not?), wash u, northwestern, u mich, U of I and U of wisconisn madison (both already accepted into, woot woot)

My expectations of those... into one of either northwestern or wash u, and one of either georgetown and duke...

I could use some suggestsion for safeties I will be happy with, I want 2 LACs, and 2 more full scale colleges

Well, I'd suggest Brown, OOS at UNC, and Pomona are reaches. JMO.

I might look at great schools where you are in high demand. One trick is to find a big name school with great programs that desires something about you. As a male you would be a prize catch at Vassar, for example (but it is colder than Brown I believe). Kenyon provides a lot of the same feel as many on your list. University of Miami might be great for you and there could be some cash there which is always nice. And if you like some more tech-y opportunity schools, Case would be somewhere to consider.

As you like southern schools I'd look at Richmond and maybe Furman (not as conservative as some think , and hey-you have Vandy on the list. LOL. ) And finally, Emory sounds like possibly a very good choice. Most of these would be safer as safeties and give a similar feel to your first choice schools (as opposed to a big state U).

I was not trying to be offensive. I know how difficult this process is as I have a high stat kid trying to finalize a list, too. Good hunting.

So... after reading that stuff about andi... I am officially scared... like legitamatly scared. I just watched War of the Worlds... and am more scared than that little 10 year old when you the aliens almost killed her.

Can anyone else please give me input about safeties, curmudgeons help was phenomenal. Unfortunaly... my apps for all the super reaches are started, and paid for. I am going to finish those. Now I plan to apply to about 4/5 safeties... im not even kidding. I could really use suggestions... i love you all!

Don't be scared. Be proactive. You are in control of part of this process. Do it well and you will be (reasonably) happy in the spring. Promise. There is a method to this madness. Find the schools that want you, some will even pay part of your way there. You are a high stat catch. Don't get caught up in the hype. PM me if you want.
