Honestly, I don't know how anyone could answer this without standardized tests. The reason I say this is that we went to a NC state school to tour. The admissions counselor stated the many high schools in NC have grade inflation. The counselor stated that a lower gpa is fine from a state like mine (NJ was specifically mentioned along with one or two others). This is also, IMO, not accurate because there are some less competitive high schools, along with very competitive ones in my state. I just wanted to let you know what the NC public U. must think about gpas from NC high schools as a sweeping generalization.

I agree with Northeastmom. You need to have SAT results for a chance. I will say, however, that you need to take the honors pre-calculus class, because many schools want students through pre-calculus before they step foot on campus.
