I'm hoping to apply EA to the SFS program. I know my grades and class rank are pretty terrible, and im not fluent in a foreign language but i have been learning arabic on my own for about 6 months now and i hope to continue studying it in college.

So do i have a chance?

your ethnicity will undoubtedly be a positive and your astoundingly high number of APs (how'd you manage 13?!) will especially help; your GPA will no doubt be considered as very high having taken that many. However, your SAT scores are a tad low, especially for SFS, but I would say that you have a good to very good chance, one that will be better if you apply EA which I see you are doing!

Keep up the good grades, improve your SATS and good luck with the SAT IIs and I think you'll get in no problem :)

how did u qual to nats 4 times already? and what event do you do?

speechies ftw!

I do PFD and International Extemp, and i went twice in NCFL and twice in NFL

my resume was almost exactly like yours, including pfd and ix, but i was asian and i got in

u are right to try for a higher sat score, get it above 1500(gtown doesnt look at writing), write good essays and i think you're pretty much a lock

Take a third SATII

I have basically the same stats as you, except my GPA will probably be slightly higher and my sats are slightly higher. I am also applying EA to Georgetown SFS, and instead of bi-racial, I'm jewish. So I guess we'll both have to hold our breath, but hopefully we'll both be hoyas in 2010!

Thanks for the advice guys. For SAT2, does Georgetown like a varied selection or can i simply do US and World History and Lit.

For the SFS, with regard to the SATII, it would be a good idea to take a language one. If you're in the National Spanish Honors Society, then take the Spanish SATII, even if you're planning on studying Arabic at Georgetown, unless you think you'd do really bad on it.

I would. I have not taken Spanish since sophomore year.

I just retook my SAT's and got them up 100 points to a 1470/2120. Will this help at all?

you SATs are better, but still sorta low for SFS (which has the highest SAT scores of Gtown colleges). boost your GPA a bit too, b/c that's the most impt part of your application
