Chances At Slo?

GPA = 3.83 Weighted

Classes = 8 APs, Honors/Accelerated courses throughout HS

SAT = Math 610, CR 530 =(
^ These are really low I know, but maybe they’ll be more optimistic when they’ve seen that i’m in AP math/english classes?

21+ hours of work/week

1-5 hrs of comm service; no leadership in clubs

Intended Major: Industrial Engineering

I did participate in the Industrial Design and Engineering Academy at my school throughout all of high school… this should help?

Let me kno what you think my chances are?
Can anyone else who applied/got in under Ind. Engineering tell me their stats?

40% chance. gpa = match but sat is at around the 30% mark

Thanks 'sympathy'...

I've only taken the SAT I's once, and i just signed up to take them again in January. Once i get my scores (assuming that they're better), can i send them in to SLO? or should i wait to see if they accept/reject me, and send them with an appeal?

I think thats too late. You have to send in your SAT wscore by Dec 1st according to the website.

Yeah...the interesting thing about Cal Poly is that the majors set their own standards for entrance. For instance, the average GPA of the incoming Architecture student is a 3.92, while the average GPA of an incoming Ag student is a 3.61. I can't say for sure, but its looking like a 50-50 shot at getting in for you.

But does anyone know how successful appeals are with Cal State schools? I've heard they're easier than UCs?

So I called admissions today. They said there are no appeals for Cal Poly, except for few rare occasions. FYI.
