sat I and sat II scores are kind of low for UCLA and UCSD. you'll probably get into the other UC's.

Yeah, I know. Thats why I'm retaking them. Like I said, I'm sure I can raise it atleast 200 points if i take a couple of practice tests this time around.

Thanks for the input.

Currently:
UCSD- Reach/slight reach
UCLA- Major reach
UCSB- Match
UC Davis- reach/slight reach
UC Irvine- reach/slight reach

once you bump up your scores, your chances will go up a lot. The UC's are numbers based.

Thanks! Right now my top school is UCSD. I recently visited it and loved it.

I'm gonna get started on the SAT I and II prep so I can raise my scores.

jason15975346:

UCLA: Super Reach
UCSD: Reach, Super Reach (Engineering)
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach

Flopsy: Thanks. For UCSD, would it be a lot harder for engineering? Would a major in physics and mathematics raise my chances?

No offense or anything, jason, but are you sure physics/math/engineering is your forte?

UC San Diego: Hard Reach
UCLA: Insane Reach
UCSB: Slight Reach
UC Davis: Match
UC Irvine: Slight Reach

Studentforever. I have had a love for physics ever since i was very young. I have many physics books that I have read. I started reading college level physics books when I was a freshman in high school. I know its a hard subject, but im willing to work at it.

I'm not going to do something just cause I'm good at it.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
I just realized that UC does not look at freshman scores and I recalculated my GPA and I have a 3.7 Wonder If that increase in points helps me.

UCLA: big reach
UCSD: reach
UCD: slight reach/match
UCI: slight reach/match
UCSB: match

Your current sat of 1630 won't cut it for ucsd. You probably will have trouble getting into uc irvine. Even if you improve 200 points to 1830, it's still a reach for ucsd because of your low SAT II scores. ucsd average SAT score is a little over 1900.

^^^ Why do you say match for UCSB and slight reach for UCD and UCI.

UCSB should be the slight reach since it is harder to get in there than UCI and UCD.

Dude Jason, I volunteer at mission Hospital too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just raise your SAT scores, and I think you'll be fine.

UCLA: Large Reach
UCSD: Large Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Reach/Slight Reach
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Match

UCLA and UCSD are out of the question. Im not sure why people are putting uci and ucd as tougher to gain admission to than ucsb. ucsb has higher admit stats and a lower admit rate.

Thanks a lot guys, I think UCD is easier to get into than UCSB. I actually really like UCSD but I have been looking at UCD and like it. Seems like a nice large campus.

Unknownforever: Really? I'm starting to volunteer at the Mission Hospital Thrift Shop thing, is that what you do?

UCD might be easier, but you never know what may happen. some really smart people got reject but others with lower gpa's got in.

Wow.. everyone's so harsh with the ratings. With a 3.7 UC GPA, I think you have a good shot at UCI/UCD/UCSB if you just raised your test scores a little.
