Right now I have a 3.45 GPA and got a 24 on the ACT. I have taken 1 AP (AP European history), but I am taking 2 AP’s (AP US Gov and AP Comparative Gov) as well as 2 IB classes (IB HL History and IB SL Economics) next year. I know those wont effect my GPA by the time I apply, but will it effect rigor. And yes i know the stats for average admitted freshman class are high, but I see people getting in with lower than that. I also have enough ec i think, Varsity Football (9-12), Track (11-12) Summer Counselor (11-12), Student Ambassador (9), Chess club (11-12). Yall’s thoughts? thanks
From here, would say you could have a reasonable chance (not sure that’s the best adjective, don’t read too much into it. A couple years ago, son made it in from out of state. Think his grades were just a bit higher, 25 ACT score. He was varsity football and counselor, too. He may have had another AP course, but generally the same. Hopefully this is reassuring to you – good luck!
Thank so much!
You sound like a current junior. There is still plenty time to retake ACT before fall 2016 applications are due and get that 1-2 points more to be a shoo-in. You are a on track to be a solid average college student. USC is a definite fit for you.
