<p>People on this board are best at determining an applicant’s chances at Ivy Leagues and really famous schools. To be honest, I haven’t heard of SMU, but then again I’m far from being an expert. What are the average SAT scores of applicants to Southern Methodist University? What was your essay like? Recommendations? Find interviews of applicants and admissions officers from SMU, because I’m afraid that this board might not be that helpful.</p>

CR: 560-670
Math: 580-680
Writing: 560-660</p>

<p>Average GPA: 3.36</p>

<p>My essay was really good according to my teachers, and I’m sure that my recommendations were great.</p>

<p>The only thing you can do at this point is study like crazy and retake the SAT in January, but that might not even be necessary. You’ll probably get in, so don’t sweat it. Good luck!</p>

<p>I know quite a few people who have gotten into SMU with stats that were definitely lower than yours. Your EC’s seem strong. I would say you have a good/fair chance of getting in, but I’m no expert.</p>
