Chances at STANFORD EA!!

<p>I'm a Chinese American female attending the top specialized high school in New York City. I'm applying Stanford EA and also considering Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, and Duke. Please let me know what my chances are at those school. Also if anyone has any suggestions for safeties and schools that are between safeties and dreams for me, please let me know! because right now all i have are dream schools...</p>

<p>SAT I: 1560 (800M, 760 V)
SAT II: 780 Writing
760 Math IIC
730 Math IC
660 Physics (Taking again in November)</p>

<p>GPA unweighted: 95.06 cumulative
94.37 10th and 11th grades (which is what stanford looks at)</p>

<p>Rank: my school doesn't rank</p>

<p>Senior Year AP Classes: AP BC Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry</p>

<p>other AP/honors classes: AP US history, (Research) AP Physics B, AP Macroeconomics, AP English Language, AP Spanish Language, Math Honors (sequential II, sequential III, precalculus), Advanced Topics Biology, Research Chemistry</p>

<p>College Programs: City College of NY College Now Program, Merrill Lynch Young Business Leaders Program (Baruch College), Columbia University Science Honors Program</p>

<p>EC's:
Volleyball: JV 1 year, Varisty 3 years, manager for boys varsity volleyball. I also play on 2 club teams and am the captain of 1.
Piano: 9 years, received a High School Diploma in Social Music from the National Piano Teacher's Guild.
Volunteer work: New York Aquarium, Catholic Big Brother Big Sisters mentoring program, Key Club, secretary for the Chairperson of District 2 of the New York State Music Teacher's Association (4-5 years)

<p>As far as majors go, I'm very undecided, leaning more towards math/science than the humanities. I'm looking for schools that are strong in both math/science and the humanities though. Please offer me suggestions/comments!! Thanks a lot!</p>

<p>i think you have a good chance...ur location could either help or hurt you...</p>

<p>I think you also have a good chance, but it depends on how competitive your region is and your essays and recs, etc.</p>

<p>i'd say 50-50 at stanford. which is way up from 1/10. xD good luck... i think you'll need it (not to imply anything about you personally, but a lot of people have similiar/better stats/ec's at these elite schools)</p>

<p>If you don't get in it won't hurt to throw apps at Brown and Penn, both great schools right belows HPS</p>

<p>I don't want to be mean, but I will give the blunt truth. As with many applicants that have been rejected, I think a crucial part that you are missing is the diversity prospect. AKA broading your horizions to different races and religions. As with your math, not sure what you meant when you mean Sequential II and III, if this is calc 2nd year and 3rd year, you are in good shape. If those were in alegbra/trig/geometry you might get into trouble there, despite a decent SAT II math score. Your SAT score will definately put you in the competative pool for normal applicants (non-sports/special talents). As with Stanford this year, many are expecting a record number of ED applicants this year, so expect it to be a very very competative pool, worse than normal years. So I'd put you're chances at around 30% overall.
As for duke, i think you have a very nice shot there.</p>
