What are my chances at Stanford, Harvard and Cornell?

In at cornell, esp if u arent asking for FA. Stanford and H are makor crapshoots. Drop by in the int'l student's forum...u'l get a good idea of what the competition is like.

Unless you are from a Country that will represent diversity (small village in Africa for ex) H and S are going to be near impossible. Average SATs, no leadership or exceptional accomplishments. If you're from Asia or Western Europe, not to mention Canada, Australia, etc., you're one of many applying and the pool is compared to one another. Asians in particular flood top colleges with apps with perfect scores. At most schools, if you need aid, the bar goes way up.

So apply to the schools you love, but also apply to schools a solid tier under ivies and schools that don't attract a lot of internationals. Look at schools in the South and MW. It is a cliche, most internationals apply to the same 10 schools. You need to get out of the box if you really want to be here.

you know, there are other fabulous schools as well

try

JHU
NYU

UCSD<--- awesome for sciences
CMU
BU
Colombia [tougher than cornell]
then of course you have Duke, Brown, Darth. etc. [all reaches]
