YOUR 31 READING SUX!

BRUTALLLLLLL! AHAUHAAHAHAHA! AHHHHHH!
SATAN!!!!!!!!

No but seriously. Nice EC's, very consistent and definite leadership.
Great GPA/RANK and Test score, really.
Also, I think admissions will get a great sense of who you are, I certainly did already. Pre-med, very into science, but also very into religion. Your essay complements that and I think you're a great holistic and consistent applicant.

But it really is a crapshoot. Just rest assured in knowing you're almost as qualified as anyone.

haha.......annoying thing is 1st time i took ACTs i also got a 34, but i had a 34 in reading. dunno what happened. oh well, haha..

Send both. Although schools won't officially superscore ACT, its still good to see improvement and that you DID have 3 points higher in the reading. I think.

I'd say you're a bit better than the average student, so your chances are a bit better than admit rate; I'd givey you 1/3 chance
ACT scores are decent. Send both scores, don't worry too much about reading. they will see your 34, even if they don't offidially superscore
class rank could have been better. even though you class is huge, definitely should have been top 10
no extraodinary EC's. seems well-rounded and you look good in all facets. but nothing sticks out.

yeah our schools very big but also very competitive. I've only received two Bs in high school (one freshman yr, one sophmore year) and it set me back. i do have good grades though ..hopefully they notice =P...

Stanford's definitely a long shot

I think you'll get in, unless you get unlucky. You're certainly at the top group of the applicant pool @ stanford...with a little luck u'll get in.

hey sup could u elaborate a bit more??

I really don't see anything outstanding in your application. Your ACT score and your recommendations seem above par, but other than that, nothing's going to pull you into Stanford.

I'd say reject. (Brutal enough?)
UIllinois - Safety
UIllinois-Chicago - Safety
WashU - Slight reach
Northwestern - Slight reach

hmm i agree flippy but im hoping my recs and essays are what puts me over the top. my application feels very cohesive; what my teachers have said about my in their recommendations are reflected in my essays as well...but..i never know..sigh

also...i always considered northwestern/washU to be match schools. All my teachers and my counselors have told me that. could u explain why?

Well, by CC standards, you have weak EC's. You're involved in music, science bowl, your church, Holy Family Parish, and have some tutoring experience...

Good GPA/ACT, weak EC's, I thought you were a bit above an average applicant at WashU and Northwestern - which means you have a good shot but you're not matched. Matched means you're probably going to get in.

crapshoot is an over used term. I think that your chances are very good.

You know what your chances are, just like 90% of the other threads in this part of the forum, why would you ask that? You have great stats, decent extra curriculars, just like 50% of the applicant pool there, you have I would say a 50/50 shot at getting in, flip a coin and see what happens, after all, who cares about the law of large numbers.
