yea, i'm not going to apply to harvard i guess. but i don't really know about my chances at these other schools. didn't get in my senior year, and it's even harder to transfer....

Pulling a 3.9 at Chicago is great for that school, so you have an excellent shot. However, you also need a good reason for HYS to accept you - what is your reason for transferring?

1) don't like how theoretical everything is at uchicago
2) got screwed over by financial aid
3) don't like how depressing it is sometimes, with everyone studying and the cold winter winds wailing outside (but is excessive academics really just characteristic of chicago? do you think all top schools are like this?)

well you have as good a shot as any...just write one of the best essays of your life and you should be in. The essay is whats going to seperate you from the rest of the pack and its going to have to be very compelling...Harvard accepts what? Like a whopping 4% of transfer students...so you've got similar stats as everyone else so your in the hunt, but there are going to be 1,000 others with similar stats so you've got to be one of the top 4 or 5 essayists
