Chances at state schools with my gpa?

GPA: 2.9-3.1(depending on how I finish this year.)
SAT: First try was 1780. (taking sat prep class and trying to improve it)
ECs: Football 4 years

Currently living in Massachusetts, and at a fairly good public school. Taking 3 honors classes this year.

Schools:
URI
Uconn
Umass-Amherst
Umass-Boston
UNH
Northeastern

bump…

anyone???

I don’t know much about these schools but what i do know is that you should try to get your GPA to be around 3.5 as that is usually the average for State schools. If you retake you SAT and get around 2000 then your 3.1 GPA might get excused. 4 years of football is good but are you in Varsity? Are you captain? As long as you are in Varsity then its good but if not then its not that impressive. You should do some community service also. 100+ hours is good.

0 around 0% chance to get in
1 around 20% chance to get in
2 around 40% chance to get in
3 around 60% chance to get in
4 around 80% chance to get in
5 around 100% chance to get in
URI-3/4
Uconn-2/3
UmassA-3
UmassB-4
UNH-3/4
NE-2/3
I’m not extremely familiar with these schools so if someone that is in touch with these schools say otherwise then you should trust them.

Thanks for the reply.
Anyone else that is more familiar with these schools?

I really don’t know anything about these schools but i know that for state schools in general you usually need at least a 3.0 to have a decent shot at getting in. Your SAT score looks good, especially if you plan on bringing it up with that prep class. sorry i couldn’t be of more help lol.

Thanks. Yeah, my gpa is kinda low, so I’m hoping to get a great SAT score next time around to give me solid chances.

Bump…

Yeah it’s not miserable or anything though so don’t get hopeless lol. If you got a SAT score in the high 1800’s or 1900’s, i think your chances would really improve. don’t stress too much!
