Hey I’m a senior from NJ and Temple is also one of my top 3 choices along UCONN and Northeastern. I have similar stats with a GPA littler higher than a 3.0. I think you are definitely well rounded with a good amount of extracurriculars. You said you had difficulties early in high school so that might be advantage. I think you have a solid chance with having a lot of ECs and you have an upward trend. It’s not gonna be easy for both of us but as long as you put the best application possible with a great essay and ECs then you definitely stand a chance.

@Schlob i promise you that you are in for sure.

Thanks! I’m not applying to UConn, but I did get rejected from Northeastern. I was pretty disappointed, but I let it go, because it was obviously a reach school for me. I wish you the best of luck!

Good luck to you as well. Hopefully I could get into one of my top 3 choices but I know they would be reaches as well.

You’ve got a chance at UConn. I know a couple people who went there with GPAs a little above 3.0

I’m another senior from NJ, who’s top choice is Temple. I think you have a good chance.

Hey I’m applying to temple for the fall of 2017
I’m an African American male
I live in Pennsylvania
My GPA through high school was a 3.0-2.9 so a solid B
I took the SATS before the new ones in 2016 and I received a score of 1100 so I plan on applying with the temple option possibly.
My Extracurriculars include: Football (2 year letter winner would’ve been three if I’d played my senior year) Track and Field (4 yr letter winner) Basketball(3year letter winner) Soccer…Treasurer for 2 years in the SADD club Secretary of the student council for two years Member of the Key Club…Envirothon member(students compete in scientific events) I play the saxophone and the cello…Hustle Award winner in basketball All Conference in football Honorable mention Various Medals in Track from top 3 finishes at Invitationals… Advanced Track in sciences in High School also would like to add I played all those sports from grades 7-12 all sports besides football and soccer…

I just wanted to know what my chances are and if any of you guys ended up getting in

You most likely will get in. Just keep your grades up senior year and get really good recommendations.

Yeah hopefully the only thing is I graduated in 2016 and I Plan on taking this year off hopefully they don’t judge me or look at me differently for taking a year off
