Chances at Texas A&M and UT Austin

Hi, I was hoping someone could chance me for Texas A&M and UT Austin.

Here's a little bit about myself:

Ethnicity:
Caucasian

Organizations:
Interact Club (9-12)
Tennis (JV 10, Varsity 11-12)
National Honor Society (11-12)
National Spanish Honor Society (Treasurer 11-12)

Awards:
AP Scholar
Honor Roll (10-11)
Volunteered 80+ hours

Stats:
Class rank: 20%
ACT composite: 29
SAT (M+CR): 1200
GPA (5.0): 4.7
GPA (4.0): 3.7
AP World History: 3
AP US History: 4
AP English 3: 3
(I am currently enrolled in AP courses AP English 4, AP Spanish 4, AP Environmental, AP Statistics)

I would really appreciate some feedback about my admission chances. It would be a dream to attend A&M, but I have also applied to UT Austin on the slim chance I get admitted there. I have already been accepted to UT Dallas, Baylor, and SMU if that helps any.

Thank you!

bumppppppp

Anyone? I’m really nervous about A&M…

hey
“A few good EC’s and awards certainly won’t hurt BUT
Tamu and austin are more of a data-driven uni.”( -Tamu correspondent)

So it all comes down to
SAT/ACT
RANK
GPA

Looking at that I say its a high match(tamu)/ low reach(austin).
You missed out on being an academic admit by one point so I guess you’ll get in if your overall resume impresses them.

Hope for the best

One more thing …
Don’t send in your SAT score

a&m: high match
texas: low reach

Thanks for the feedback y’all :)

I would agree with what everyone else has said. But what major did you put down? Even within UT, depends on which school you’re applying for, that might make a difference. For example, Education average SAT is 1701 whereas engineering is 2026. I’m sure it’s the same concept for A&M, though the average scores are probably a little lower than UT.

I did put down engineering for both schools, but from my understanding that is not taken into consideration when the university is reviewing your application for admission. I could be wrong, but this is what I’ve always heard.
