Chances at the ivies? HELP!

Hi, I'm a junior at a small private school in New York City. 5 years ago I moved to NY from a small tropical island in Asia named Singapore . (Just mentioning it in case background makes a difference). Please tell me if my stats are good enough for Harvard/Priceton/Yale:

(things to keep in mind: my school doesn't give weighted GPAs or class ranks)

9th Grade GPA: 4.06
(with one Honors course)
10th Grade GPA: 3.86
(with AP Euro and Honors Math)
11th Grade expected GPA: around 3.9
(with AP Bio, AP US History and Honors Pre-Calc)
12th Grade courses I'm planning to take:
- AP English
- AP French
- AP Calculus
- Political Philosophy
- Physics
(for the record, I will have taken all the honors and AP courses offered in my school by the time I apply)

SAT Scores:

SAT II Writing: 800
SAT II Math IC: around 740 expected
SAT II History: around 700 expected
SAT II Literature: around 730 expected

-practice test results:
(they are in the range of what I expect for the actual thing)

Writing Skills : 800
Math : 760
Critical Reading : 720
(total of 2280 converts to a 1540 on the old SAT)

Please give me your criticism and feedback. Thanks!!!

I'm a junior as well and I'm surprised...we have almost simialr stats! You're a really competitive student but I'm not sure if you have the "hook" that's required for HYP. I think you have a better shot at Brown, Cornell, and UPENN (out of the Ivy schools). If you also mentioned your major, I might be able to recommend some match schools - in the limits of my college admissions knowledge. Good luck! :)

Can you post your stats up? Maybe we can help each other out since we have similar stats. My major is journalism, and I think the "hook" that they might find in me is all the writing stuff I do. (I'm hoping my writing scores will help me) I'm willing to do whatever's needed to improve my chances at HYP.

anyone with feedback?

drop by in the Indian Thread under "International Students", cuz ul get a reply within 5 min or so. super active thread.

what school in new york? chances are I know it and someone who goes there. (as long as its in my neck of the woods)

Garden School, a tiny private school in Queens

How did you get a 4.06 freshman year without a weighted gpa??

I had four subjects with As (4 each), and an Honors Math subject that I got an A in (4.3). Averaged, I have a 4.06 GPA.

The only thing about going to school in NY is that its tough. It expensive, and everything is always moving... if you didn't grow up there, or in a city, it may be a tough transition.

Help me out, 4.06 is a weighted score. That is a weighted gpa.

never mind, not my neck of the woods, but awesome! i once knew someone who went to kew gardens or kew forest or something, but thats it...

cool...where are you from? What you meant is probably Kew Forest High School, or biggest enemy, lol.

oh im from manhattan, but an old friend from camp went to kew forest i think... haha sorry i had to bring up school rivals.

What school? Does it give class ranks?

filmxoxo17: Let me guess...Stuy?

no way... PUBLIC SCHOOL? lol jk. no i dont, but i got in in 8th grade... i know a few people there too, now that i think about it.

hey, you guys, do you think the 3 in AP Euro will hurt my chances? And I heard that you send in AP scores by choice, so if that's true, do you think I should not send it in?

wow, your stats and ECs.. i'm sure you have a very good chance. good luck!

do you think the 3 in AP Euro will hurt my chances?
