<p>In college, I'll probably major in either Political Science or Pre-Law, and I think I've established my interest in that field of study through my extra-curricular activities. Well, anyway, right now, I'm interested in Wellesley, Smith, NYU, Vassar, Cornell (I think Vassar and Cornell will probably be my "far reaches"), Boston University, Grinnell, and Reed. I'm also entertaining the idea of applying to Wellesley early decision.</p>

<p>Please help me out... I think I'm in need of a good dose of reality. Thanks.</p>

<p>Hmmm...your GPA is a little low for Wellesley, NYU, Vassar, and Cornell. You have a very good chance at Smith, BU, and Reed, but again, I'm worried about your GPA.</p>

<p>This year I took three AP courses... Even if I only passed with 3s on all of my exams, I would still be an AP scholar. So my question is, if I were to do well on my testing, would that increase my chances of acceptance in any substantial way? </p>

<p>Just curious... I was looking the Grinnell website last night and there was a greater percentage of National Merit Scholars/Finalists (21%) in the student body than there were AP Scholars (10%).</p>

<p>In any case, I knew that Vassar and Cornell were pretty far out of my range. :/ But would Wellesley still be a significant reach for me, even if I were to apply early decision?</p>

<p>AP test scores shouldn't affect your admission much at all, so don't fret about your 3's. I would say Vassar, Wellesley, and Cornell are slight reaches. None of them are significant reaches and if you apply ED to Wellesley, you would have a good shot. They accept over half of their ED applicants (around 61% according to collegeboard) opposed to their 37% for RD applicants. Keep in mind that Wellesley considers the essays and recs as a huge part of their admissions process, so make sure they're good.</p>

<p>Yes, you have a good chance at Wellesley if you apply ED....they seem to like Asian chicks ;) Go for it if that's what you really want. Visit the campus (it is so pretty!) spend the night, whatever. Good luck!</p>
