UCD/UCI/UCSB: Reach

sarah2468:

UCI/UCSB/UCD: Reach

could you explain why?

Lack of GPA and solid SAT scores. UCs have been putting more emphasis on ECs, but without good GPA and SATs to back it up, you won't get anywhere...

i heard somewhere that the UC's weigh IB and AP courses as 1...most of my junior and senior classes are AP and IB...would I have a chance if they somehow recalculated my GPA as higher?? But will my SATs still drag me down?

by the way, do I have a shot at smith college or BU?

UCD/UCSB/UCI: Reach (GPA to low...)

Smith: Slight Reach
BU: Reach

There are plenty of other good places for you in CA. Other UC's (like UCSC, UCR) or the CSU system would be good matches (if you applied there before the deadline...) Look at some other private schools in CA (USF, USD, etc.) to find more matches!
