<p>Me: Male attending top 200 public school (out of a total of roughly 20,000)
UC GPA: 3.88
UW/W GPA: 3.6/4.1 (10-12)
Total of only 5 AP's
SAT I - 2130
SAT II - 720 USH, 740 Biology E
Our school doesn't rank
ECs-
-Journalism 1-4 (Editor last 2 years)
-Summer Program to help kids w/ disabilities (10-12); 150+ hours
-Tutoring disadvantaged kids (9-12); 80+ hours
-Club Secretary (literary-related); 22 hours
-CSF & soon-to-be NHS
-Band (9-11), Secretary for one year </p>

<p>I know I'm an average student ... I'm hoping my essay will make up for it and my SAT scores, but I know the top-tier UCs don't weigh SAT much at all in comparison with GPA. </p>

<p>Good luck, I have the same GPA so yeah, it might be tough for top-tier UC's but we can hope.</p>

<p>Your higher than avg. sat score partially makes up for your under-average UC GPA.</p>

<p>UCB/LA: reach (gpa. u said it urself...they dont weigh SAT as much as gpa, although i wish they did)
UCSD: high match; gpa's a lil under their average
rest of them: match to safety</p>

<p>u can probably tell that im weighing the GPA most in my chances...but then again, that's wut the UC admission officers do</p>

<p>do u have ELC? because if u do, ur chances get considerably better</p>

there are around 600 or so students in my class where a lot of people earn straight A's</p>

I think you are good everywhere but maybe UCLA and Berkeley but it is more likely than not that you will get in. I doubt that you would not but there is always a chance.</p>
