<p>What are my chances at some of these schools with these credentials?
I am an asian female at a public school. I'm a junior and the following is assuming that i will continue all my clubs, sports, etc.
GPA: 3.6-3.8 (unweighted) 4.1-4.3(w)
5 AP classes total, 3 Honor Classes total (lots of ap math/science)
SAT I: R: 580 M: 780 W: 720
SAT II's: Chinese: 800 Math 2c: 800 (i'm taking Bio this year >.<)
School Activities:
Speech and Debate (4 years) - competed at big tournaments in Chicago, Berkeley, etc.
Key Club (a member of the activities committee; 4 years) - 130 + service hrs
French Honor Society (11-12th)
Badminton team (JV, then Varsity; 4 years)</p>
<p>Others:
Play the zither, a Chinese string instrument (7+ years)
Co-President of a library's teens club (1 year) :(</p>
<p>I'm pretty sure i can get at least two recommendation letters from my math, science, or history teachers.</p>
<p>Schools i'm considering...</p>
<p>UC Davis
UC San Diego
UCLA
UCB
U. Southern California
NYU
Carnegie Mellon</p>
<p>I don't have much activities, so i guess that doesnt look so good. I also plan on taking the SAT I again. Any advice is appreciated :) Please recommend me some safety schools. I think all these schools are pretty big reaches for me >.<</p>
<p>well my guess is that you may be a match for all of them except for carnegie mellon , they tend to be more selective than others…try to give them more EC’s…GOOD LUCK :D</p>
<p>Not to discredit the above chancers, but I think this is more realistic-
If you can keep at least a 3.70 GPA UW/4.2 GPA W (preferably 4.24 or above) and get at least a 2150 on the SAT I (work on math!), then:</p>
<p>UC Davis - match
UC San Diego - high match
UCLA - mid-reach/high reach (more toward high)
UCB - mid-reach/high reach (more toward high)
U. Southern California - mid-reach/high reach (more toward high)
NYU - slight reach
Carnegie Mellon - high match/slight reach</p>
<p>Also, I believe you will get into at least two of the following:
UCLA
UCB
U. Southern California
NYU (probably this and one of the above)</p>
<p>just a warning, i’m not the most familiar with the uc system so i’m guessing based on what i’ve heard about schools. GOOD LUCK!</p>
<p>UC Davis - match
UC San Diego - match
UCLA - mid-reach
UCB - match
U. Southern California - match/mid-reach
NYU - match
Carnegie Mellon - match/mid-reach</p>
