Okay, my question is.....am I allowed to apply to Duke thru ED and UNC thru EA at the same time? I've read that unless the school has a restriction, such as in the case of Brown, students are allowed to do that. I'm not really sure though..... Any insights on that? Again, thanks so much for helping!! :)

Yes you are allowed to do that. The mentality is that you can only apply to one school ED and you can continue to apply to other schools that are EA, RD, or rolling. But when/ if you are accepted to the ED school you applied to, you must discontinue and remove all applications at other schools. Now there is a way to pull out of the binding scenario if the FA is not good enough, but if you need alot of FA, you really shouldn't be applying ED anywhere unless your EFC is like less than 500 dollars.

Now on to the chances: I'm assuming you're from NC but if not then it will slightly affect my chance for IUNC.

-Duke (ED)- right now it is not looking too good. But you do have good SAT 2scores so just work on that SAT1 and you should easily raise your chances.
-Johns Hopkins - I'm going to say reach for now but that will significanlty go up if you can crack 2100 on the SAT or at least a 1400 with M+V.
-Brown- Reach for now
-Emory- low reach
-WashU - Reach for now. The reason being is that it seems that you aren't particularly inclined toward this university. I don't see anything that says I want to go to Wash U here. They do take into account your willingness to attend into consideration. I have friends who were amazing students but didnt get into Washu because Washu knew which students were applying because they wante d to come and which students were looking for a very respectable safety.
-UNC-CH- I really can't say anything about Chapel Hill. All I know is that out of state admission is very tough.

Good luck and try to at least crak a 2050 on the next SAT/

Thanks for advice, guys! I know, I better bring up my SAT scores. I'm hoping this time I can get somewhere around 2200.... And yes, I am from NC so UNC is not extremely difficult. Also, I do have safeties in mind but I didn't put them on the list. I'm considering NC State and possibly one other school.

During senior year, I'll be taking 4 APs and 2 Honors classes. So my GPA should raise after 1st semester if I do well. lingotjuice, you have a good point about WashU. This is one of the school's that I'm not certain about applying. Again, thanks lots for suggestions!
