Chances at these SUNY schools ?

<p>I'm currently a junior.
I just got my SAT scores back.
I got:
CR-610
Math-620
Writing-670
so, 1900 total.
I'm taking the ACT in june (aiming for a 29)
And I might retake the SAT in the fall to improve my math score.</p>

<p>My GPA at the end of the year will be ~88 UW : /</p>

<p>I took AP bio when I was a sophomore and next year i'm taking 2 more APs
I have a lot of work and volunteer experience and I dance 5 hours a week.
I also used to do varsity swimming and track.</p>

<p>I made a list of the 7 SUNY schools :
Fredonia(match?)
Oneonta(match?)
New Paltz(match/ low reach?)
Potsdam (safety?)
Oswego(safety?)
Brockport(match?)
Geneseo(reach?)</p>

<p>what do you think ?</p>

<p>Also, which SUNY has the best psychology program?
I want to major in Psych and go on to grad school to become a child psychologist</p>

<p>New Paltz seems like a good match/low reach as you suggested. They have a good psych program, one of my son’s housemates is a psych major and she seems quite happy.</p>

<p>I think you will get into New Paltz, but its not a sure thing.</p>

<p>Geneseo looks for a 1300 SAT or 29 ACT, so unless you get that, its a major reach.</p>

<p>You still have time though to retake your tests and what not: so don’t panic!</p>

<p>SUNY Cortland has good psych program and an absolutely terrific education program to boot. Please, please check it out.</p>

im going to retake my sat in October and aim for a 700 math, and try to improve my CR as well.</p>

<p>I agree with sean256. I got into New Paltz with similar scores so it’s not impossible!</p>

<p>I would also take a look at UB as a match school. I don’t know alot about the psych programs there but they are a major research facility, with heavy student involvement and excellent faculty., I remember seeing a video there that referred to various ongoing child development research - you can likely find more info on their website using the search function. Also, they could certainly accomodate your love of dance!</p>
