chances at these Texas schools?

hi I'm a Hispanic male senior currently living in New York but lived in Texas for most of my life. I'd really like to return and was wondering what my chances at these schools would be

-Rice
-Texas A&M (being out of state worries me on this one because I read they only have 3% of out of staters. does anyone know how this would affect my application?)
-Trinity University
-SMU
-TCU

I attend a highly competitive small private school that doesnt rank.
Im taking some of the hardest courses available senior year such as AP Chemistry, AP Government, and Honors Physics.
-GPA without senior grades 86.85 on a scale of 100
-senior year GPA so far 95 on a scale of 100
-SAT- 640M 630CR 570W
-SATII- took Chem and US History but havent gotten scores back
-about 75 hrs of community service
-cofounder of History Club
-officer of Chess Club
-Spanish Club
-LaSallian Youth Group(community service thing)
-played football and baseball in high school (though not varsity)
-graduating with advanced New York State Regents diploma (dont know if this means anything out of the state of NY)

Thanks Alot

Ha 3% of Texas A&M is like the size of the entire freshman class of any of the Ivies. You should be fine for that.

I think you should be good. (just a tip, try to get those volunteer hours to 100, it looks so much better and your only 35 away and you could get those in 1 week if you clear your weekends schedule.

lol...100-75=25 hours albert einstein not 35

i think you look good for everything except rice. rice is a bit of a high reach, you have a slim shot...

thanks for the responses. Im kind of bummed that my chances at Rice are slim although I have a few family members who were alums there. Nothing in my immediate family though, a couple of aunts and uncles who are alums and a first cousin who is a current student. Would this help me at all or is it only immediate family members that count?

I think Rice is somewhat against giving preference to people with family members who are alums because they want diversity.

Being Hispanic helps but you gotta have the grades and scores too.

URM+great grades+lots of comm service is what Rice likes most in applicants IMO..

Capatain, I recently applied to both TCU and SMU. I think you have a great shot at at least both of those schools. Both are moderately selective, around 50-60% acceptance. I recommend scheduling an SMU interview; mine went really well, and ever since, I've gotten zillions of postcards, etc. from them. They stressed the importance of AC/student interaction at the tour. If you are serious about SMU, shoot an email to one of their AC's (on their website) and I guarantee you'll have a great shot.
TCU I'm not so cure about, but you should be fine with your grades, etc

Best of luck
